V8 star Lowndes undergoes surgery

V8 Supercars veteran Craig Lowndes pre-season preparations have taken a blow with the Bathurst champion to undergo surgery on a broken collarbone.

V8 Supercars star Craig Lowndes is set to undergo surgery after breaking his collarbone during a motorbike accident last weekend.

The Bathurst champion sustained the injury after falling off his bike during a ride with family and friends on Sunday.

It's expected Lowndes will still be deemed fit to participate in the upcoming V8 Supercars season, starting with testing in February.
