Van Gogh works draw record crowds to NGV

A record number of visitors have flocked to Melbourne's National Gallery of Victoria to see paintings by Dutch post-Impressionist master Vincent Van Gogh.

A Vincent Van Gogh exhibition has attracted a record number of visitors to Melbourne's National Gallery of Victoria.

More than 420,000 art-lovers have visited the Van Gogh and the Seasons exhibition, which finishes on Wednesday after it was extended due to demand, Creative Industries Minister Jenny Mikakos said on Monday.

The exhibition opened in April and the gallery held a special 24-hour viewing at the weekend to cope with demand.
