Collingwood's Travis Varcoe will miss Thursday's important clash with Richmond after accepting a one-game AFL ban.

Varcoe was pinged by the match review panel for an off-the-ball hit on Luke Dahlhaus during the Magpies' loss to the Western Bulldogs.

The tribunal will not sit after Melbourne veteran Bernie Vince also accepted a one-game suspension.

Vince was charged with striking St Kilda forward Nathan Wright and will miss the Dees' clash with Carlton on Sunday.

He and Varcoe each risked two-game bans if they went to the tribunal and their challenge was unsuccessful.

Port Adelaide's Hamish Hartlett, Carlton's Levi Casboult, Geelong recruit Zach Tuohy and Fremantle pair Michael Walters and Cam McCarthy were all fined over incidents during the opening round of the season.
