Vettel happy with debut Ferrari F1 season

Guaranteed to finish third in the 2015 standings, four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel is very happy with his debut season for Ferrari in Formula One.

German driver Sebastian Vettel has declared himself pleased with his debut season in Ferrari as the Formula One campaign comes to a close with Sunday's Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

"The season has exceeded our expectations. We had a fantastic year - just phenomenal," Vettel said on Thursday at a media conference.

Vettel, a four-time world champion with Red Bull, is guaranteed to finish third in the standings behind Mercedes pair Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

The 28-year-old has been on the podium 13 times this season, winning three races for Ferrari - a marked improvement for the Italian garage after a disastrous 2014 with no victories.

"We want to finish the season on a high note," Vettel added.
