Vic bus smash leaves woman dead, 14 hurt

A woman is dead and 14 are injured after a smash between a minibus and taxi in regional Victoria.

A horror smash between a minibus and a taxi in regional Victoria has left a woman dead and 14 injured, including two elderly passengers.

Police believe the taxi, carrying two passengers, collided with the minibus at about 3.30pm on Tuesday near the town of Ardmona, about two hours north of Melbourne.

The force of the crash toppled the bus onto its side.

A female bus passenger was killed, but police have yet to release any details.

Emergency services treated 14 people in total, with two elderly women flown to hospitals in Melbourne.

A woman in her 80s was flown to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a serious but stable condition with head, pelvis and facial injuries.

Another woman in her 90s was flown The Alfred Hosptal with head and arm injuries, also in a serious but stable condition.

Another 12 people were taken to Goulburn Valley Hospital.

The exact circumstances of the crash are yet to be determined.
