A Melbourne chiropractor has been temporarily banned from treating children under 18 after a video of him cracking a baby's spine went viral last month.
Parkdale chiropractor Ian Rossborough's medical registration reveals details of an undertaking which stops him from performing "any chiropractic treatment" of patients up to the age of 18 until June 2.
The online video, which has had more than a million views, prompted Victoria's Health Minister Jill Hennessy to call for an urgent crackdown on "rogue operators" who manipulated the spines of babies and children to treat conditions like colic, autism and ADHD.
At the time a spokeswoman for the Chiropractic Board of Australia said it, and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency had a number of investigations under way to address the minister's concerns.
It is unclear whether Dr Rossborough will face tougher penalties, but the Chiropractic Board of Australia is expected to hold a hearing into his conduct on or before June 2.
