Vic cops happy despite the odd cheeky fan

Crowd behaviour after the West Coast Eagles' win against Collingwood at the MCG was good but for a handful of arrests, evictions and bunch of fines, police say.

Victoria Police have arrested a handful of unruly revellers in the wake of the AFL Grand Final but say they are happy with the behaviour of the 100,000-strong crowd at the MCG and surrounding sites.

By about 8pm Saturday, officers had arrested seven people for a variety of offences including drunkenness, assault and drug possession.

They also evicted 12 footy fans from the MCG and fined 21 for drunk and disorderly behaviour.

A handful of footy supporters tried to get into the MCG without a ticket and were slapped with fines and a couple met the same fate after running onto the field at the end of the game.

Despite the drama, police said they were "happy" with crowd behaviour at the nail-biter clash between the West Coast Eagles and Collingwood Magpies.
