A Victorian woman accused of trying to murder her husband by spiking his meatballs with 75 sleeping pills was allegedly captured on CCTV buying the drugs at chemists.
Joanne DeBono - who says Stephen DeBono physically and emotionally abused her for 25 years - also allegedly injected him with two millilitres of brake fluid as he slept after eating the spiked meatballs.
Mr DeBono woke and asked her what she was doing while the needle was still in his arm, the Melbourne Magistrates' Court has heard.
Police say his 54-year-old wife fled and later went to a police station where she confessed.
Debono, of Gowanbrae, and her 19-year-old daughter, Shannon DeBono, allegedly visited various chemists to buy a haul of sleeping pill temazepam, the court heard on Wednesday.
Both are both charged with attempted murder and intentionally causing injury over the alleged incident on March 12.
Mr DeBono will be cross-examined when his wife and daughter front a committal hearing in April next year.
He faces a charge of making a threat to kill, the court heard.
Mr DeBono allegedly threatened to kill his wife immediately after waking when the drugs wore off.
Witness statements gathered by police appeared to corroborate Joanne DeBono's claims of abuse, Magistrate Charlie Rozencwajg said.
Both Joanne and Shannon DeBono are on bail.
