Labor leader Bill Shorten continues to skirt around a row between paid and volunteer firefighters in Victoria, insisting the federal election shouldn't be used to politicise a state issue.
A MediaReach poll of 700 households in six marginal federal seats - Bendigo, Ballarat, Corangamite, Dunkley, La Trobe and McEwen - found two out of three voters did not support the Andrews government's "attempt to unionise Country Fire Authority volunteers".
"This has been a disappointing dispute and, of course, everyone would like to see it resolved more quickly than it has been," Mr Shorten told reporters in Melbourne on Tuesday.
