The Fair Work Ombudsman will enforce one of its largest back payments after ordering a Victoria-based mining services company repay more than $2 million to underpaid workers.

Deepcore Australia Pty Ltd has agreed, as part of an enforceable undertaking, to repay a total of $2.09 million to 205 employees for work they performed at mines in regional Victoria and Queensland between 2010 and 2014.

The Fair Work Ombudsman said it found the company had failed to pay minimum entitlements after receiving requests for assistance by the employees in August 2015.

The company has also been asked to hire an independent specialist to audit its compliance with wages and work-related entitlements, upgrade systems and processes, and commission workplace relations training for all relevant managerial staff.
