Thousands of homes have been left without power with cars submerged and property damaged after heavy rain in Victoria.
More than 450 calls were made to the State Emergency Service in the 24 hours to 7pm on Tuesday, with 19 requests still outstanding.
In Melbourne, heavy downpours left streets flooded and trains carrying Melbourne Cup racegoers to and from Flemington were disrupted.
The State Emergency Service said it had been called to five road rescues, and had 13 requests from people who said they had been trapped in cars.
The majority of property requests were for flooding and building damage.
About 2600 Victorians were without power at around 3pm, with some outages due to lightning strikes, but the number has since fallen, energy company websites show.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning for heavy rain in Melbourne and eastern parts of the state, with conditions expected to ease into the evening.
