A $10 million fund for the maintenance and improvement of Port Phillip Bay has been established by the Victorian government.

Foreshore upgrades, water quality improvement works, amenity upgrades, dune stability projects and wetlands improvements will be funded by the proceeds of the lease of the Port of Melbourne.

Environment and Water Minister Lisa Neville says the money will target improvements to the water quality of the bay, its health and the many amenities it provides.
