Vic man arrested after motorcyclist dies

The driver of a station wagon has been arrested after a collision with a motorbike in southeast Melbourne that killed the rider.

A 53-year-old Melbourne man has been arrested after the station wagon he was driving collided with a motorbike in the city's southeast, killing the rider.

The collision occurred in Oakleigh South just after 6am on Wednesday, Victoria Police said in a statement.

The motorcyclist was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries and died a short time later.
