A man has been charged with murdering his partner as her children slept in a Melbourne home.
The 31-year-old woman was found stabbed to death at a house in Noble Park.
Bona Lual, 36, dialled triple-zero before handing himself into police early on Tuesday morning.
Police say Lual and the woman were at a party at a Dandenong North hall on Monday night.
Detective Senior Sergeant Steve McIntyre said the woman's four children, aged between two and 12, were in the house at the time of the incident.
"The children have been taken back to the Dandenong police station, we've got the Department of Human Services and some family involved," he told reporters at the scene.
"They haven't indicated that they've seen anything."
Lual, of Doveton, was charged with murder and faced an out-of-sessions hearing on Tuesday.
He was remanded in custody to face the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
