Vic man dies in mobility scooter crash

A 95-year-old Victorian man has died in hospital after being hit by a car while riding a mobility scooter.

A 95-year-old man has died after being hit by a car while riding a mobility scooter in central Victoria.

The crash happened at an intersection in Maryborough, north of Ballarat, about 2.55pm on Thursday.

The man was flown to hospital but died on arrival.

His death takes the state's road toll for the year to 153.

The driver of the car was uninjured.
