A robber nabbed in a citizens arrest after allegedly trying to break into a house in Geelong has been charged with burglary and weapons offences.

Two men have performed a citizen's arrest after a burglary gone wrong in Geelong.

The robber was allegedly trying to break into a garage when he was disrupted by a man living in the house on Friday night.

He and a teenage neighbour chased the man and detained him until police arrived.

A 32-year-old man has been charged with burglary and weapons offences, and will face an out of sessions court hearing on Saturday.
