Vic MPs vow bank change, more free TAFE

Victoria's political leaders say they'll change the state's bank, crackdown on crime, expand free TAFE courses and give cash for dogs to woo voters.

THREE DAYS TO GO IN VICTORIA'S ELECTION CAMPAIGN

WHERE THEY WENT:

* Daniel Andrews - Frankston (the electorate of Frankston) and Mordialloc (Mordialloc)

* Matthew Guy - Melbourne (Melbourne) and Heidelberg West (Ivanhoe)

WHAT THEY SAID:

* "We have already announced universal care for three-year-old kindergarteners, we need the workforce that will be skilled to meet that demand." - Premier Daniel Andrews on free early education TAFE courses and kindergarten teacher scholarships

* "I wouldn't want an ice injecting room next to my sons' primary school and therefore I won't tolerate it next to anyone else's childrens' primary school - that's why we'll shut it down." - Opposition Leader Matthew Guy on closing the supervised injecting room

WHAT THEY PROMISED

LABOR:

* $27 million towards adding two early childhood courses to the free TAFE program and creating 8000 university scholarships for prospective kinder teachers

* $150,000 for a trial to put 10 retired greyhounds in public nursing homes

* $1 million on shelters and foster carers for dogs

* $2 million for upgraded and expanded community vet clinics

* $67.6 million for stage-two redevelopment of Frankston's adult education centre, the Chisholm Institute

* $5.3 million for 'Home of Golf' stage two project at Sandringham Golf Club

* $2 million in grants for minor upgrades and equipment to golf clubs

* $7.5 million to continue the development of local cricket hubs

* $6 million for upgrades to cricket infrastructure.

LIBERAL:

* Move Victoria's finances from Westpac to Bendigo Bank

* Released its first 100 days in office governance outline which includes a counter-terrorism portfolio, and closing the supervised injecting room in North Richmond

* Launched campaign website www.danielandrews.sucks targeting Labor
