Vic parties offer road, hospitals and PSOs

With just two days until the Victorian state election, both major parties have splashed cash on infrastructure promises.

TWO DAYS TO GO IN VICTORIA'S ELECTION CAMPAIGN

WHERE THEY WENT:

* Daniel Andrews - Greensborough (the electorate of Bundoora) and Deer Park (Kororoit)

* Matthew Guy - Ballarat (Wendouree)

WHAT THEY SAID:

* "North East Link will give local roads back to local residents and only Labor will deliver it." - Premier Daniel Andrews pledging to kick-start work on the $15.8 billion toll road on Monday if re-elected on Saturday

* "It'll give them a future which is brighter, a career path that is longer and importantly it will allow the police to have greater pressure taken off their workload." - Opposition Leader Matthew Guy on custody officers becoming PSOs

WHAT THEY PROMISED

LABOR:

* Pledge to put the North East Link out to tender on Monday if re-elected

* Remove three rail level crossings in Deer Park, a part of its $6.6 billion promise to remove 25 level crossings by 2025

* $5 million to establish a Victorian Wine Showcase to target key markets overseas

LIBERAL:

* $461 million to match Labor's budget commitment to expand Ballarat Base Hospital, with an extra $1.6 million for mother-and-baby mental health and $1.8 million for pain patients

* $100 million to discount stamp duties for pensioner downsizing properties

* $30 million plan to retrain 400 police cell custody officers into protective service officers
