Victorian Premier Denis Napthine says he has no interest in calling for an increase in the GST, but he wants the state to get a larger slice of the pie.
"What we want in Victoria is our fair share of the GST," Dr Napthine told reporters on Friday.
"We are not arguing for a raise in GST. Our argument is to get a fair share."
He said Victoria currently only gets 90 cents back for every dollar paid by Victorians.
Victorians are happy to help smaller states and territories, but wants the way the revenue is divided to be re-calibrated, he says.

"It's wrong, as far as we're concerned, that a resource-rich state like Queensland gets 106 cents in the dollar back and we only get 90 cents," Dr Napthine said.
The comments came after West Australian Liberal Premier Colin Barnett urged Prime Minister Tony Abbott to "take some leadership" and raise the GST.
Mr Barnett says the pool of GST is not growing as forecast and as a result frontline services would start to suffer.
