Vic promised a power plant and child EDs

Victorians have been promised a new power plant and five new children's emergency departments 12 days before election day.

THE VICTORIAN ELECTION CAMPAIGN, MONDAY NOVEMBER 12

WHERE THEY WENT:

* Daniel Andrews: Monash Children's Hospital (in the electorate of Oakleigh)

* Matthew Guy: Mitcham (Ringwood)

WHAT THEY SAID

* "Emergency departments by their very nature are very stressful, busy places and they're not always appropriate for every patient who presents there for the care that they need, particularly kids and families." - Premier Daniel Andrews on why children need their own emergency department

* "We'll wait for the market to come back with a winning option, we expect that might be a mix of generation, it might be gas mixed with solar, it could be a range." - Opposition Leader Matthew Guy on a new power plant

LATEST PROMISES

* Labor:

- $62.4 million to reconfigure or expand existing emergency departments for a dedicated children's space at Geelong, Maroondah, Frankston, Casey and the Northern hospitals
