A new ride that whirls thrillseekers upside down at the Royal Melbourne Show has been deemed safe following complaints about harnesses coming loose mid-air.
But the SkyWalker ride, which made its show debut in 2017, will not re-open after being shut down on Monday to allow for a WorkSafe Victoria and engineer inspection.
Despite being given the all-clear, the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria said the ride would remain closed "in the interests of customer comfort and confidence".
Thrill-seekers earlier took to social media to complain about the loose harnesses on the ride, calling for it to be shut down and investigated.
"As the ride was taking off and started spinning, I was almost two stories high in the air when my harness came up," Allie Calleja posted on the show's Facebook page.

"This ride needs to be reviewed before something horrific happens ... close the ride before someone dies."
Another customer, Lisa Germon, also said her harness on the SkyWalker ride was loose.
"The harness was so loose and the person didn't even come to check if we were properly clipped in," she said on Facebook.
"As soon as we were in the air we were sliding all over the place feeling as if we were about to fall out of our seat."
No one has been injured on the ride.
