Vic trains union strike a deal

The long-running pay dispute between Melbourne train drivers and Metro Trains is coming to an end with the announcement of a new deal.

Melbourne train drivers have struck a deal with Metro Trains, bringing to an end a long-running pay dispute that has affected hundreds of thousands of commuters.

The train operator and the Rail, Tram and Bus Union reached an in-principle agreement for a new enterprise agreement on Wednesday.

"This agreement is a win for the membership and the RTBU is proud of the result," union secretary Luba Grigorovitch said.
