Victoria's water management agency is planning to buy billions of litres of water to help combat the drought affecting the state's west.
The Victorian Environmental Water Holder has only received seven per cent of its water entitlements in Wimmera due to the region's dry conditions.
The agency wants to buy up to 10 billion litres of water to prevent irreversible damage in the Wimmera-Glenelg environment.
