RIOT HISTORY:
Malmsbury and the Parkville youth justice centres have been damaged in numerous previous riots.
At Malmsbury earlier this month detainees rioted and armed themselves with metal poles.
A riot at Parkville in mid-November saw 30 inmates trash their cells, forcing the government to transfer some to the state's highest security adult prison in Barwon.
