Victoria have added veteran batsman Rob Quiney to their squad as they look to defeat Queensland and carry winning form into the Sheffield Shield final.

Barring an extraordinary final round performance by second-placed NSW, the Bushrangers will host the final in Alice Springs after last week's outright win over Western Australia.

Victoria made it three Shield final appearances on the trot with the win over the Warriors, but must replace allrounder Marcus Stoinis who has been called up to the Australian Test squad in India.

"It's a great achievement for the players and coaches to reach a third straight Sheffield Shield final, and a testament to the hard work and camaraderie they've built over the years," chairman of selectors Andrew Lynch said.

"To be a part of another final, and potentially host it for the second time in the last three years, really shows how strong a cricket state Victoria is.

"It's also great to see Marcus rewarded with an opportunity to be with the Australian Test squad in recent days.

"While he'll be missed, as many other players are who are unavailable for different reasons, a reason for our success is the depth of talent in our group."

Uncapped fast bowler Jackson Coleman was also named in the 13-man squad to face the Bulls from Thursday at Allan Border Field.

In a frantic final round of action, the Blues, Queensland, South Australia and Western Australia are all a chance to claim the spot opposite the Bushrangers in the final.

Bushrangers squad: Cameron White (C), Fawad Ahmed, Scott Boland, Dan Christian, Jackson Coleman, Travis Dean, Aaron Finch, Seb Gotch, Marcus Harris, Jon Holland, James Pattinson, Rob Quiney, Chris Tremain.
