Victoria has lost Rob Quiney with a calf injury for this week's Sheffield Shield cricket match against Tasmania in Hobart.

The Bushrangers have recalled Cameron White, Jon Holland and Aaron Ayre for the game, starting on Thursday, as they try to consolidate top spot on the Shield ladder.

John Hastings, Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch are unavailable because of national duties.

Hastings and Finch will leave for the South African tour on Saturday and Maxwell is already with the national squad in New Zealand.

The Bushrangers have also dropped Clint McKay.
