Victoria's greyhound industry and government are trying to prevent an inundation of trainers and dogs crossing the Murray River after a bill to shut down the NSW industry passed its state parliament.
Victorian Racing Minister Martin Pakula confirmed dog racing wouldn't be scrapped in Victoria and said controls were being put in place in anticipation of an exodus from NSW.
"We've got to be very careful about that - we can't have a sort of an inundation," the minister told SEN on Wednesday.
