This summer, Victoria will undergo the biggest fire- bug blitz in the state's history.
Operation Firesetter will see police officers patrol known trouble spots looking for would-be arsonists.
Details of vehicles observed in high risk areas will be recorded for intelligence, and the public is being urged to report "anyone" under suspicion.
The operation was a key recommendation of the Bushfires Royal Commission which followed Black Saturday.
