Victoria's acting premier says the state won't be intimidated by the latest piece of Islamic State propaganda encouraging would-be terrorists to target Melbourne landmarks.
Tullamarine airport, St Paul's Cathedral and Melbourne's CBD are shown in an online video that also includes explosions and attacks in the Middle East.
But James Merlino insists: "Victoria won't be intimidated by these kind of videos."
"I'm advised by Victoria Police that there's no immediate threat to any Victorian community or infrastructure," the acting premier said on Friday.
"But of course police are given all the resources (needed) to respond and keep Victorians safe."
Deakin University Professor Greg Barton has told the Seven Network Islamic State hopes the video will encourage followers in Melbourne "to be tipped over the edge into trying to do something" locally.
Melbourne is the only Australian city to feature in the latest video.
Islamic State in September used an online magazine to call for lone-wolf attacks in Melbourne and Sydney - including at the MCG, Brunswick, the SCG, Bondi beach and the Opera House.
