Victory's Austin walks out of TV interview

Melbourne Victory player Mitch Austin has walked off the set during a television interview on Tuesday.

Melbourne Victory winger Mitch Austin has recovered from a suspected panic attack that caused him to walk off the set while being interviewed on national television.

Austin, 26, was asked about the upcoming A-League season on ABC TV on Tuesday morning, giving an incomplete answer before apologising and walking off.

The abrupt end to the interview stunned ABC presenters, who said later in the program Austin was okay and just a bit overwhelmed.

"I think that he just blanked and then had a bit of a panic attack, but he's okay," interviewer Georgie Tunny later said.

"We had a good chat outside of the studio, so he is all fine and set to star in Melbourne Victory's season opener in the grand final replay against Sydney this weekend."

Victory play the defending champions Sydney FC in a grand final replay to begin their 2017-18 campaign on Saturday night.
