Virginia State Uni shooting isolated

A man has been injured in a shooting at Virginia State University but it appears to be an isolated incident, police say.

A lockdown has been lifted on the campus of Virginia State University following a shooting that left one person injured.

Virginia State University Police said via Twitter that the scene had been cleared after what is believed to have been an isolated incident.

The Chesterfield Police Department earlier said officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound with non-life-threatening injuries after responding to reports of the incident on Saturday evening.

Chesterfield Police said "police believe this is an isolated incident."

An investigation is ongoing.
