The water system failed on Monday under pressure from high numbers of visitors attending ceremonial business in the surrounding areas.

The community was left without water for two days and some facilities had to be shut down.

CEO of  Community Services In Bidyadanga Mr Peter Yip said the outage had been a disruption to everyone.

Mr Yip said that he had spoken to the West Australian Department of Housing and has been assured that funding for a new tank and bore would be supplied.

The system has today been restored and is functioning again.
