A man is in hospital with a serious chest injury following a suspected stabbing in Perth's eastern suburbs.

The 18-year-old was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital according to WA Police, who responded to the incident at Bayswater around 11.30am on Sunday.

Police also found a 41-year-old man with an injury to his arm while a third man, 44, suffered a "medical emergency" at the scene and was also taken to hospital.

The West Australian newspaper reported a witness allegedly seeing two men wielding a broom and a stick, chasing an older man down the street.

"One man has been seriously injured, however I've been told he's currently in a stable condition and is being treated at Royal Perth Hospital," a police spokesman told reporters.

Sections of Garratt Road were closed off as officers set up protected forensic areas at the scene.

Police believe the three men knew each other.
