A 63-year-old man is being questioned by police over the death of a man and the disappearance of his wife in a remote part of Western Australia's Mid West region.

Jennie Kehlet, 49, has been missing since March 22 and was last seen camping with her husband Raymond Kehlet, 47, while they were on a prospecting trip in the Table Top area some 25km from Sandstone. Mr Kehlet's body was found at the bottom of a disused mineshaft in April.

On Tuesday, police said they had searched a property in the southern Perth suburb of Medina, taken several items for further analysis and were speaking with a 63-year-old man.
