Wales flanker Lydiate out of NZ tour

Wales have suffered a blow, losing flanker Dan Lydiate for the three-Test series against New Zealand due to a shoulder injury.

Wales flanker Dan Lydiate has been ruled out of next month's tour of New Zealand due to a shoulder injury.

Lydiate captained Wales in Sunday's 27-13 Test loss against England at Twickenham but was forced to leave the field in the first half.

Uncapped Ellis Jenkins has been called into the squad for the tour to replace the 28-year-old Lydiate who has played more than 50 Tests for his country, the Welsh Rugby Union said on Sunday.

Wales play three Tests against the All Blacks with the opening match in Auckland on June 11.
