In a matchup between two of the NBA's top teams since New Year's Day, John Wall heard "MVP!" chants while producing 26 points and 14 assists to lead the Washington Wizards past the Indiana Pacers 112-107.
The All-Star point guard accounted for eight of Washington's last nine points, while Markieff Morris scored a season-high 26 points and had 10 rebounds.
The Wizards have now won 18 of their past 19 home games.
In Detroit, Kawhi Leonard scored 32 points and the San Antonio Spurs never trailed in an easy 103-92 win over the Pistons.
Australian point guard Patty Mills had five assists, two points and one rebound in 15 minutes of court time after starting on the bench for San Antonio. Compatriot Aron Baynes scored four points for Detroit.
Elsewhere, James Johnson scored a season-high 26 points and the Miami Heat won their 13th straight game, beating the beleaguered Brooklyn Nets 108-99 in New York.
And Anthony Davis had 42 points and 13 rebounds to win a duel with Karl-Anthony Towns and lift the New Orleans Pelicans to a 122-106 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves in Minneapolis.
Draymond Green had a rare triple-double while scoring only four points, and the Golden State Warriors beat Memphis 122-107 on Friday night for their first win over the Grizzlies in three attempts this season.
Green had 12 rebounds, 10 assists and a career-best 10 steals.
The fallout from the Charles Oakley drama continued in New York, with Knicks fans chanting for the banned club legend during the Knicks' 131-123 loss to Denver at Madison Square Garden.
The 53-year-old former Knicks great was hauled out of the Garden during Wednesday's game against the LA Clippers after allegedly berating team owner James Dolan and was arrested for assault.
He was banned from the arena by Dolan prior to Friday's game.
Midway through the first quarter, fans launched into a "We want Oakley" chant and took it up again in the second quarter.
Meanwhile, Nick Young scored 26 points to help Los Angeles overcome a career-high 41 points by Giannis Antetokounmpo and withstand a furious late rally to beat Milwaukee.
Devin Booker scored 27 points, Eric Bledsoe added 23 as the Phoenix Suns eaily rolled past the Chicago Bulls 115-97.
And the Sacramento Kings came from behind to score a narrow 108-107 win over Atlanta, having only taken the lead for the first time in the game with 1:14 remaining in the final quarter.
