Kurtley Beale knows the anguish driving Wales after tasting the same pain during the Wallabies' long battles to topple the All Blacks.

After accounting for Japan 63-30 in Yokohama the Australians jetted out to the UK for a much greater challenge at Millennium Stadium next Saturday.

While they've had many nail-biting contests, Wales haven't beaten Australia in their last 12 attempts, the last victory coming at the same venue in 2008.

Wallabies veteran Beale has experienced similar win-loss records against New Zealand with Australia going 10 games between 2008 and 2010 and then seven games before their breakthrough victory last month in Brisbane.

Beale said his team couldn't afford to be distracted by the dominant record.

"It always hurts but look at our record against the All Blacks up until the last couple of weeks until we broke it and it was one of the best feelings ever; a huge relief," Beale said.

"We know that feeling so that gives us a bit of a background what they'll be feeling leading into this game."

The utility back didn't play in last year's match and said that watching from the stands stoked the fire for his return to international rugby.

"Last year I sat in the stands for a couple of games and it certainly gave me want to be back playing in gold again," he said.

"One of the best things about rugby is being able to experience Millennium Stadium, the crowd and an atmosphere that's one of the best in the world.

"They (the Welsh) always pick a big forward pack that just loves the physicality and big, dynamic backs. You know it is going to be a confrontation."
