Queensland State of Origin hopeful Jarrod Wallace says he didn't shoulder charge Blake Ayshford in Gold Coast's NRL loss to the Warriors.
The Titans were thrashed on Saturday 34-12, with Wallace facing a nervous wait after his off-the-ball shot on Ayshford.
However, Wallace says the hit came as Ayshford changed direction to try to reel in a mis-directed pass.
"He jumped and I braced myself and I didn't think too much of it," Wallace said.
"I remember bracing and stopping my run, to pull out of the tackle. What more can I do?
"I was committed to tackle him and, if I was going through with the tackle, I would have kept running."
If Wallace is charged by the match review committee, he faces a possible two-game ban, making him unavailable for Origin II selection.
Wallace was the Maroons' 18th man for Origin I. The loss to NSW has prompted further calls for the Titans' prop to be included in the Maroons' squad.
He said he hadn't received any feedback from Queensland coach Kevin Walters since game one but was eagerly waiting contact.
"Kevvie and the selectors will make their choice. I just have to wait and see on Monday (when the Maroons name their Origin II squad)," Wallace said.
"I won't get my hopes up or think anything of it until I actually get the phone call."
