Wallaroos to take on NZ in October

The Australian national women's Rugby Union team, the Wallaroos, will take on New Zealand as they prepare for the Women's Rugby World Cup.

The Australian women's rugby team will play the curtain-raiser to the Wallabies' third Bledisloe Cup Test at Eden Park as part of a three-match tour to New Zealand.

The match on October 22 will be the first of two Tests against New Zealand's powerhouse Black Ferns as the Wallaroos prepare for the 2017 Women's World Cup in Ireland.

Wallaroos coach Paul Vernell believes the clashes will provide a valuable yardstick.

"Our paths didn't cross at the last World Cup and we are keen to improve on our performance when we last played in mid-2014," he said.
