Wanted man throws bike at Sydney cops

Sydney police have charged a man, wanted on warrants for breaching parole, after he allegedly threw a bike at an officer.

A man wanted on warrants for breaching parole has allegedly been caught with drugs and a burglary kit after throwing a bike at Sydney police and trying to run away.

The 24-year-old tried to leg it after he and a another man were stopped by police patrolling at Central Railway Station early on Saturday afternoon, they say.

He allegedly threw a mountain bike at police, hitting one on the knee before bolting.

While being chased he was seen throwing a small bag over a fence, police said.

"The bag was ... recovered and allegedly contained an amount of white powder believed to be crystal methylamphetamine (ice) as well as housebreaking implements," a spokesman said.

He was later charged with several offences including possessing housebreaking implements and assaulting police.

He was refused bail and is due before Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.
