Warner blames sloppy fielding in IPL loss

David Warner's Sunrisers Hyderabad have suffered a six-wicket, last-ball defeat by the Delhi Daredevils.

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner has conceded that he didn't lead from the front in the field as his side were taken down by the Delhi Daredevils in a six-wicket, last-ball defeat.

The Australian, who had earlier impressed with the bat, dropped a sitter as Delhi chased down the 158 total in the Indian Premier League match in Raipur on Friday.

"Our fielding was quite sloppy, I'm responsible for that," Warner said following the loss.

"I dropped a sitter. Those chances can make you pay. We thought 150 was par. We knew if it was pitched up it was going to go the distance."

After the Sunrisers were sent in to bat, Warner was solid at the crease, notching up 73 before being caught off an Amit Mishra ball.

However, with no support for Warner - the next highest knock an 18 from Australia's Moises Henriques - Hydrabad finished 7-158.

Despite a confident start with the ball, the Sunrisers faced a hefty task in the form of man-of-the-match Kumar Nair, who went on to make 83 not out after Warner missed a crucial, and easy take in the 15th over.

Needing two for a victory on the final ball, Nair struck a four, passing through Warner at mid-on.
