Warner guides Sunrisers to first IPL win

David Warner has hit an unbeaten 90 to guide Sunrisers Hyderabad to a seven-wicket win over Mumbai - their first of the IPL season.

David Warner has produced a tremendous captain's knock to hand the Sunrisers Hyderabad their first win of the Indian Premier League season, a seven-wicket thumping of defending champions Mumbai Indians.

The feisty Australian opener smashed an unbeaten 90 off 59 balls to steer the Sunrisers to 3-145 with 15 balls remaining in Hyderabad on Monday, successfully reeling in the target set by Ricky Ponting's Mumbai.

The Sunrisers had lost their opening two matches, but appeared destined to overturn that record when they restricted Mumbai to 6-142.

Australian allrounder Moises Henriques played his part in keeping Mumbai's total down with an economical spell of 0-23 from his four overs, while also running out the dangerous Rohit Sharma for 5.

Henriques (20 off 22) then played second fiddle as Warner set about dismantling the Mumbai target, with the pair adding 62 for the second wicket before Henriques' dismissal.

His exit didn't faze Warner, who continued to pile on the runs - smashing seven fours and four sixes, including the winning runs.
