Warner shines with bat at Hyderabad

David Warner has scored 92 off 50 balls to help his Sunrisers Hyderabad side to a 15-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

Australian opener David Warner has scored 92 off 50 balls to captain his side Sunrisers Hyderabad to a win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in their Indian Premier League match.

Saturday's game in Hyderabad was delayed by rain but once underway the Sunrisers were the better team all around with bat and ball.

Warner's 92 and New Zealander Kane Williamson's 50 helped set the pace with Hyderabad winning by 15 runs, the side scoring 5-194 to Bangalore's 5-179.

"I'm over the moon with that win. You never know what a good total is, especially when you're playing a star-studded line-up like RCB," Warner said after the match.

"Williamson and I set out to try and get to 100 without losing a wicket. It was fantastic for him to come in and play the way he did. He played the anchor role to take the pressure off me."

RCB's Virat Kholi, India's test captain, lost his wicket early and said his side weren't good enough on the night.

"Warner was fantastic, and Kane Williamson gave him able support.

"Once again, our execution with the ball was poor. When Warner got out, I thought we could restrict them to 175. I thought 195 was a little too much. I'm not worried about the batting bit, it's the bowling we need to get better at."

Earlier on Saturday the Delhi Daredevils defeated the Kolkata Knight Riders by 27 runs at the Feroz Shah Kotla Ground in Delhi.
