Warner to train with Australia Test squad

Australia's preparations for a three-Test series at home against New Zealand start on Tuesday when a 19-man squad trains at Hurstville Oval in Sydney.

Cricket Australia on Monday announced the squad that includes the 15 players that were meant to travel to Bangladesh for a two-Test series this month plus David Warner, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Johnson.

The tour of Bangladesh was called off due to security concerns.

With the Test squad members now playing for their respective state teams in the domestic one-day cup in Sydney, the two-day camp will give the Test aspirants a hit-out with the red ball.

Warner hasn't played since breaking his left thumb during Australia's one-day series in England in early September.

After a long and draining Ashes campaign, fast bowlers Johnson and Hazlewood were rested from the Bangladesh tour and haven't yet played in the interstate one-day cup.

The camp will involve centre wicket and net practice across both days.

Tasmanians James Faulkner and Andrew Fekete will only train on Tuesday as the Tigers face South Australia in a one-day cup clash at Blacktown on Wednesday.

The first Test against the Black Caps is at the Gabba from November 5.

Australia squad:

Steve Smith, David Warner, Cameron Bancroft, Joe Burns, Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Faulkner, Andrew Fekete, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Johnson, Usman Khawaja, Nathan Lyon, Mitchell Marsh, Shaun Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Peter Nevill, Steve O'Keefe, Peter Siddle, Mitchell Starc, Adam Voges.
