This year's finalists Parramatta and New Zealand Warriors have been drawn in the same pool for the 2017 NRL Nines tournament in Auckland in February.

The Eels won this year's third edition of the tournament, beating the Warriors 22-4 in the decider, but were later stripped of the title in the fallout of their salary cap indiscretions.

The other teams in their pool following the draw on Thursday are St George Illawarra and Manly.

The only two Nines champions share the same pool.

Inaugural winners North Queensland are in the same group as 2015 champions South Sydney.
