Warriors second rower Ben Henry has suffered yet another potentially season-ending knee injury, his third in three years.
The 24-year-old will undergo scans over the next few days after he was forced from the field halfway through Saturday's first-round 34-26 NRL loss to Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium.
The initial diagnosis is that Henry has either dislocated the patella in his left knee or ruptured his quad.
Henry was playing his first NRL match since a season-ending ACL injury in the fourth-round match against Brisbane in March last year.
He'd come through trials against Gold Coast and St George Illawarra untroubled but his twice-operated-on left knee was caught awkwardly when he made a tackle in the 20th minute of Saturday's match.
Henry has suffered season-ending injuries in 2013 and 2015 and undergone two knee reconstructions in the past three years.
Warriors coach Andrew McFadden said things weren't looking good.
"I'm shattered for him personally and so is everyone else," McFadden said.
"Ben worked so hard to be ready for the start of the season and was really looking forward to stringing some games together. This is devastating."
