NBA champions Golden State Warriors are not going to the White House while in Washington next week.
Instead, the team plans to visit local students after being disinvited by Donald Trump last summer from the typical championship meet-and-greet with the sitting President.
Head coach Steve Kerr and point guard Steph Curry were critical of Trump, and Curry said last year he hoped the team would make a statement by not attending a White House ceremony.
The Warriors face the Washington Wizards on February 28.
Next week is Golden State's only scheduled regular-season trip to D.C. this season.

"At the end of the day, it's about us celebrating a championship so there's no point in getting into the political stuff and all that," Warriors forward Draymond Green told ESPN. "It's about something we did great. Why make it about (politics)?"
Kevin Durant grew up in the area and was recently critical of Trump, who while responding to Laura Ingraham of Fox News, suggested on-air Durant and LeBron James "shut up and dribble."
