In the United States, the Pacific coast state of Washington is preparing to vote on a possible new law regulating Genetically Modified Foods.

The new law would put Washington State in line with European nations requiring labeling of all foods containing Genetically Modified Organisms.

North American correspondent John Stempin explained to Murray Silby why food manufacturers and grocery stores have mounted a fierce campaign against the proposed law.
