What appears to be a massive shooting star has been caught on car dash cams and mobile phones streaking across the night sky in Bangkok and other parts of Thailand before exploding.
A Facebook group called the Thai Astronomical Society said shortly after the incident that it was "expected" to be a meteor.

Social media was abuzz with comments and videos about the sighting of the mysterious object.
There has been no official confirmation from the Thai Government on what the object was.
It is the second time in two months a display of this kind has been caught on camera over Thailand.

In early September a similar flash appeared in the sky over Bangkok.
