Waterboarding claim offensive: Dutton

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton has dismissed allegations waterboarding has been carried out on asylum seekers at Nauru as offensive and nonsense.

Immigration Minister Peter Dutton has dismissed as nonsense allegations asylum seekers have been tortured at the Nauru detention centre.

A Wilson Security guard who claims asylum seekers have been water-boarded will front a Senate inquiry on Thursday afternoon.

"I am aware that there is legal action between Wilson and ... a disgruntled employee and all these matters need to be put into context," Mr Dutton told reporters in Canberra.
